People’s Choice Awards 2022: 5 Style Moments Giving Us All the Feels
From Shania's throwback look to Kelly Clarkson's kid and "People's Champion" Lizzo, the stars slayed.
Awards shows are always about more than just the awards being given out on the stage. Celebrities use it as a chance to bring out their most fiercest fashions — and they know that it can go down in history, good or bad. But for this year’s People’s Choice Awards, so many moments represented more than just what they were wearing — giving us all the feels.
From Shania Twain‘s nostalgic throwback look, to Lizzo looking fierce as always but instead, choosing to turn the spotlight on women who’s actions speak louder than words, we are loving last night’s major moments.
We also saw one sweet celebrity offspring, a bedazzled bikini top that literally stole the show, and a tearjerking acceptance speech from an inspirational actress at the ceremony which took place in Santa Monica, Calif. on Dec. 6th.
Other noteworthy looks included Carrie Underwood’s printed suit, Olivia Wilde’s peek-a-boo gown, and Billy Porter’s dramatic ruffled high-collar top and pants (would we expect anything less?)

Here are 5 of our favorite moments from this year’s People’s Choice Awards.
1
Shania Twain
On the 25th anniversary of her iconic “Come On Over album,” the 57-year old singer brought fans a hefty dose of nostalgia with an updated take on her iconic leopard-print look from 1998’s “That Don’t Impress Me Much” music video. The custom Rodarte dress featured a leopard hood, with sheer detailing that showed off her amazing abs.
Along with performing an epic medley of her biggest hits, Twain received the “Music Icon Award” at the ceremony, encouraging fans to “knock down any doors that slam in their faces,” and “be the queen of you.”
2
Kelly Clarkson & River Rose Blackstock
While Kelly Clarkson accepted the award for “Daytime Talk Show of the Year,” it was her adorable plus-one who stole the spotlight at the telecast. Eight year old daughter River Rose cheered on her famous mom from the audience, donning an adorable rainbow dress accented with sequins.
Clarkson — who wore this floor-length red ruffled number from Needle and Thread London that gave us festive holiday vibes — reportedly made the decision to push back the time slot for her eponymous talk show in order to spend more time with her kids. Earlier this month, multiple sources confirmed her NBC syndicated show will stay on the air till at least 2025.
3
Lizzo
Lizzo gives us more style moments than we can count, and this Alexander McQueen look did not disappoint. The superstar sported the boldly-printed embroidered gown, as she accepted the “People’s Champion Award” from her mom, Shari.
But instead of thanking her team or giving herself a pat on the back, the 34-year old opted to honor several female activists by name, saying “power will always be to the people.” The “About Damn Time” singer also took home a trophy for, you guessed it — that song.
4
Selma Blair
Actress Selma Blair continues to inspire us, from being an amazing bestie and support system to celeb friends like Christina Applegate and Reese Witherspoon, to her consistent displays of elegance and grace through her harrowing journey with multiple-sclerosis.
The Cruel Intentions star reportedly didn’t leave a dry eye in the house, as she accepted the award for Competition Contestant of 2022, for her time on Dancing With the Stars — a show she was forced to quit prematurely, due to her illness. Sporting a stunning Oscar de la Renta minidress and her signature cane, Blair told the crowd “this is kind of a huge deal for me.”
5
Carmen Electra
While she wasn’t there to accept an award, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention this Electra-fying look that literally everyone is talking about. Carmen Electra, who apparently ages backwards, turned heads in a bedazzled bikini-top style gown designed by Alexander Wang.
The 50-year old Baywatch stunner stepped out in the slinky number, which showed off her amazing figure.
