What life would be like if people wore Fashion Week outfits on the street

Our social media feeds have been overflowing with pix from New York Fashion Week, and with those images come the onslaught of designs that are just a little too out-there to be ready-to-wear. Sure, a lot of the details and essence of these looks will start popping up at H&M fairly soon, albeit in a way-tamed-down style. But what if people actually wore the most dramatic runway looks on the street? Jimmy Kimmel investigated last night.

Jimmy’s team recreated some of the more out-there looks from NYFW, and members of the studio audience modeled them. They totally worked these looks, but even the fiercest strut couldn’t quite make these outfits sidewalk-ready. Hey fashion, what gives?
