People think Emma Stone will be in the next “Fantastic Beasts” movie — here’s why

When the undisputed queen of magic and Twitter tweets, people pay attention. So, after J.K. Rowling posted a photo with Emma Stone and Eddie Redmayne, the internet was pumped. Not only because people adored seeing the creator of Harry Potter alongside these two talented actors, but because it inspired rumors that Stone could be in the next Fantastic Beasts movie.

At the BAFTAs on February 12th, Redmayne — the star of Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them — presented Stone with the award for Leading Actress for her performance in La La Land. Rowling was also in attendance at the BAFTAs since she wrote and produced the Harry Potter spinoff film Fantastic Beasts, which was nominated for five BAFTAs and won Best Production Design.

Rowling then took to Twitter to post a phone of her, Stone, and Redmayne and wrote the very-understated message of: “Fun evening ❤️”

While Rowling’s tweet gave no indication that Stone would have anything to do with the Fantastic Beasts sequel, that didn’t stop the internet from getting excited and noting how the La La Land actress would make a great addition to the franchise.

Considering that Rowling has an affinity for redheads and Fantastic Beasts takes place in America, Stone would be pretty perfect in a Fantastic Beasts sequel. After all, there will be a total of five Fantastic Beasts movies (!!), so there is ample opportunity for Stone to show up in one as either a Muggle or witch.

However, don’t let this epic tweet from Rowling get your hopes up too high. Most likely, this was just a quick pic and not any sign of future casting. Still, we can admire these three beautiful people for their incredible talents during the “fun evening” that was the BAFTAs, thanks to Rowling’s tweet.
