Taking a relationship to the next level is a nerve-racking experience. Will your “I love you” be returned? Or will it be shot down with an “Um…thank you?” One Reddit user polled the site to see how the “I love you” experience went for others, and grab your tissues (seriously).

Since the initial post was made in October 2018, it’s collected just under 2,000 upvotes and over 1,000 people have weighed in on the “I love you” conversation.
