We just found out who Penny’s mom will be on “The Big Bang Theory!”
After nine whole seasons of The Big Bang Theory, we’re finally going to meet Penny’s mom! TV veteran Katey Sagal has been cast as Susan, the mother of Kaley Cuoco’s character, and we’re SO EXCITED ABOUT IT.
You may know Sagal from Sons of Anarchy, or you might remember her from a tiny little ’80s/’90s show called Married with Children.
And to make things even more exciting, we’re also going to meet Penny’s brother!
Jack McBrayer will play her brother Randall on the 10th season of the show. You might remember him from another teeny tiny show called 30 Rock.
The Big Bang Theory‘s executive producer Steve Molaro revealed the thrilling news at the show’s Comic-Con panel on Friday.
“We are finally going to meet more of Penny’s family,” Molaro said. “We’re going to be meeting Penny’s mom and her brother in the first episode back. We’re super excited that Katey Sagal will be playing Penny’s mom.”
Susan is described as “stressed out and neurotic from a life with her troubled son,” which makes total sense since Randall’s character is described as “a cheerful former drug dealer and ex-con.”
Sagal and Cuoco must really have great chemistry, because this isn’t the first time they’ve played mother/daughter on TV. The duo starred together on the ABC comedy 8 Simple Rules.
Sagal and McBrayer are going to add so much hilarity to the show — we can’t wait to see them in action!
