Peggy Hill rapped to Nicki Minaj’s ‘Hey Mama,’ because the Internet is wonderful
In case you’ve yet to encounter a Vulture Remix episode, let us clue you in on a few of their life-changing Internet gems. They’ve been responsible for Doug Funnie rapping to Fetty Wap’s “Trap Queen” and Miss Piggy singing Rihanna’s “BBHMM,” and that’s just to name a few. Put simply, Vulture Remixes epitomize remix culture in all the best and most relatable ways, for which we’re eternally grateful.
This week, video artist Adam Schleichkorn (AKA Mylo the Cat) made King of the Hill‘s Peggy Hill rap to Nicki Minaj and David Guetta’s hit, “Hey Mama”.
According to Vulture, Peggy Hill was a thoughtful selection for this particular song. You see, unlike many of Nicki Minaj’s songs, “Hey Mama” deviates from her standard badass messages about money-making and career domination, and instead communicates the domestic negotiations of a romantic partnership. Seeing as though as Peggy has “inspired a generation in her bucking of gender norms and negotiation of feminist ideals and mother – and wifehood,” she made the perfect candidate.
