Paul Walker’s brother Cody is carrying on his legacy

After taking on his late brother’s role to complete Fast and Furious 7, Cody Walker has just signed on for his first starring role in a major film. Variety reports that Cody is joining the cast of USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage, a World War II film starring Nicolas Cage and Tom Sizemore.

The film tells the true story of the USS Indianapolis, a ship that was torpedoed in the South Pacific near the end of the war. Given the classified nature of the ship’s (it was delivering parts of the first atom bomb), it wasn’t immediately reported missing, leaving those who survived at risk of exposure, dehydration, and shark attacks. Of the 1,196 man crew, only 317 survived the four days they were left at sea.

Walker will be starring as Stan West, one of the members of the crew. Cage is playing the ship’s captain, Charles Butler McVay. Thomas Jane, Matt Lanter, and Brian Presley are also signed on to star in the film, which has a release date over Memorial Day weekend next year.

Cody has been taking to his Instagram page to share some behind-the-scenes shots from the set:

We’re so excited to see Walker on the big screen and we’re sure his brother would be proud too.
