Trump’s latest inauguration performer is also a “Gilmore Girls” cast member
As we’ve all known for a while now, our current President-elect has had a difficult time booking talent for his January 20th inauguration — but according to multiple reports, Donald Trump can now add Paul Anka, lately of Gilmore Girls fame, to the roster.
What, pray tell, would Lorelai think?!
According to Radar Online, the 75-year-old Canadian-American will perform his most famous song, “My Way” (which was written by Anka, but most famously performed by Frank Sinatra) at the ceremony, “with the lyrics re-written for his long-time friend and incoming president.”
“Paul was asked by the members of the Trump inauguration committee and he was only too happy to do it for his longtime friend,” Radar’s source continued, adding that this special version would be performed during the inaugural dance between Trump and his wife, Melania.
If this is true — and details of the inauguration are being kept under wraps, though Trump promised “it’s going to be a beautiful event, we have great talent, tremendous talent” during his press conference last Wednesday — Anka will join the likes of the Radio City Rockettes (minus the three who are refusing to perform), former America’s Got Talent runner-up Jackie Evancho, and The Mormon Tabernacle Choir in welcoming the PEOTUS to the White House.
And since neither Rory nor Lorelai (nor their adorable, scruffy, naughty dog, also named Paul Anka) are currently available for comment, the internet is stepping in on their behalf:

Good luck to Anka on January 20th … no matter what happens, we’ll be glued to our TVs with Pop-Tarts and Red Vines, just like our favorite Gilmores.
