Twitter is still losing it over Patti LuPone’s 2018 Grammys performance
Broadway legend Patti LuPone brought the house down Sunday, January 28th, at the 2018 Grammy Awards in a special tribute to composer Andrew Lloyd Webber. Reprising her iconic performance as Eva Perón in Evita, she delivered a stirring rendition of “Don’t Cry for Me, Argentina.”
Dressed in white lace and jewels, the Tony Award-winning singer and actress sang her heart out. Even though it’s been decades since she played in Evita, LuPone sounded just as amazing as she did the first time she stepped onstage.
In fact, she put on such a sensational and emotional performance that Twitter literally cannot stop talking about it.

Not only did her performance leave the audience in tears, but it also marked the end of an alleged 20+ year feud with Lloyd Webber. The pair had an infamous falling-out in 1994 when Lloyd Webber fired LuPone from his production of Sunset Boulevard. The two eventually stopped speaking, but it seems that’s all behind them now.
The New York Post reported that LuPone walked into Grammy rehearsal and said, “Hello Andrew. This is détente, ladies and gentlemen.” There were laughs, and the two even hugged.
It’s safe to say that everyone hopes LuPone and Lloyd Webber collaborate again so they can bless us with more performances like last night’s.
