Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen have an amazing request for Taylor Swift
When it comes to squad goals, few hold a candle to the bestie-ship between Sir Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen. These revered actors and long-time BFFS have set the Internet on fire with their awesome adventures and heartwarming friendship. But as it turns out, they have squad goals of their own, particularly getting in good with Taylor Swift’s legendary gang of buds.
It all started Wednesday, when Sir Ian recited “Bad Blood” on camera, like a true thespian, while visiting Yahoo’s studios. This is too good not to share:
Then, of course, Sir Patrick followed suit, appearing on NPR’s Ask Me Another, and reciting T. Swift’s “Blank Space.” (You can hear his dramatic reading here.)
Following both their performances, Stewart tweeted Taylor, herself, to alert her of their dramatic readings. He then had a simple request.
“May we join the squad,” might be the best sentence ever tweeted. Taylor responded quickly, with an apt homage to the friendship that we all can’t get enough of.
Who can I formally petition to make matching bowler hats the new best-friend necklace?
And by the way, when Patrick Stewart saw her response this morning, he had the reaction any fan would: Total freak out.
Yes, bestie dreams really do come true. Now all we need is for Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen to make a surprise appearance on stage during Taylor’s tour. Hey, it could happen.
