Paris Jackson has responded to ‘Urban Myths’ removing the episode about her dad

This week, Sky Arts released the first trailer for the TV series Urban Myths. This included the first look at actor Joseph Fiennes playing Michael Jackson, who is black.  After receiving complaints from Jackson’s family and fans — including Jackson’s 18-year-old daughter Paris — the network removed the episode. We’re glad they listened!

The show upset Paris, in addition to angering fans, with the casting choice for the King of Pop. Sky Arts cast Joseph Fiennes in an episode about a legendary road trip Michael Jackson took with Elizabeth Taylor and Marlon Brando.

First of all, Paris spoke out about the episode when the trailer was released.

Then, Paris expressed her relief at finding out that the episode was being pulled.

Furthermore, Paris was not the only family member to celebrate the network removing the episode. TJ and Taj Jackson also rejoiced after hearing that the episode was no longer going to air.

All things considered, Sky Arts did the right thing by removing the episode. In addition, Sky Arts explained the decision in a statement on Twitter:

“This decision was taken in light of the concerns expressed by Michael Jackson’s immediate family. We set out to take a light-hearted look at reportedly true events & never intended to cause any offense. Joseph Fiennes fully supports our decision.

In conclusion, we’re glad to see that Sky Arts removed the episode. Furthermore, we hope that production companies reach out to get Jackon’s family’s input on any further projects.
