Bummer young Hollywood news — Paris Jackson and her boyfriend Michael Snoddy split

It’s been a busy year for Paris Jackson so far. The daughter of Michael Jackson covered Rolling Stone, with a pretty shocking and revelatory interview, and is going to be guest-starring in Lee Daniels’s new show, Star, later this year! But, now we have some less happy news: Paris Jackson and her boyfriend have reportedly broken up.

She and her boyfriend, Michael Snoddy, who is a 26-year-old drummer in a rock band called Street Drum Corps, have been together for less than a year. Snoddy was featured in the Rolling Stone article, where Paris was quoted saying that when she met Snoddy, she felt something entirely different and special. “I never met anyone before who made me feel the way music makes me feel,” she says.

A source tells People that this break-up, like Gigi and Zayn’s supposed break-up last year, could just be temporary. “Circumstances could change,” the source says.

Rolling Stone described Snoddy as a “Virginia native whose dyed mohawk, tattoos and perpetually sagging pants don’t obscure boy-band looks and a puppy-dog sweetness.”

Here are Paris and Michael during happier days:

It’s unclear what caused the break-up, but we hope Paris is happy after what seems to be a series of difficult years. She told Rolling Stone that, while suffering from drug addiction and depression, she had attempted suicide at least three times and later attended an inpatient therapy program. “It was just self-hatred,” Paris explains, “low self-esteem, thinking that I couldn’t do anything right, not thinking I was worthy of living anymore.” So sad.

She later attended school in Utah, which she says was “great.” She told Rolling Stone, “I’m a completely different person.” Now Paris is off meds and feeling better.

We’re looking forward to her acting debut and to see what she does next! Go Paris!
