These parents recreated their daughter and her boyfriend’s selfies, because parents live to embarrass you
Girl meets boy. Girl takes selfies with boy. Girl’s parents troll selfies and recreate their own versions. At least, that’s how the story goes for Emily Musson and her boyfriend, Johnny.
We’re all guilty of it from time to time, but everybody knows that one couple who’s always posting lovey-dovey selfies with gushy captions. When Emily and Johnny became that couple, her parents Nancy and Craig decided to have some fun: They put their forward-facing camera to use and recreated their pics, down to the facial expressions and hand placement.
We definitely don’t love trolls, but we kind of do when the trolls are two well-meaning parents. Nancy and Craig have yet to meet Johnny, but when they do, at least they’ll have plenty to talk about. He and Emily only met about two weeks ago, but it’s never too soon to selfie, right?
For the most part, Emily seems shocked by all the attention the selfies have been getting. As of this morning, the pictures have been retweeted over 66,000 times! “When it went viral, I was confused,” Emily told Cosmopolitan.com. “Like, yeah, it’s funy but, like, it’s more interesting if you actually know my parents.” Fair, but we still think it’s pretty darn funny.
Emily and Johnny have A+ selfie techniques, but the real stars in all of this are, of course, Nancy and Craig. “My mom thinks it’s hilarious and claims she wants to be on Dancing With the Stars,” Emily continued.
Hey — if it works out, they’ll have a great story to tell their grandkids. (We mean Nancy and Craig, of course.)
