Um, so this all-paper trailer for ‘Paper Towns’ is the best idea ever
The release date for Paper Towns is So! Close! (July 24, for those of you who don’t know.) But just in case you weren’t quite excited for the latest John Green book-to-film adaptation, we present for you: The paper trailer for Paper Towns.
That isn’t some sort of typo or understatement. Instead, the brilliant minds promoting the film teamed up with paper supplier/not-Papyrus Paper Source to create an all-paper, stop animation trailer for the film, starring paper cutouts of Cara Delevingne and Nat Wolff (who star as their real selves in the film). It’s a charming play on the film’s name and inspiration, and also just really beautiful and detailed, down to the ransom note-esque letters.
Watch the trailer below, and just try to fight the urge to start folding origami or get an elaborate card for somebody, anybody’s birthday:
