5 (more) easy ways to have a healthier week

Last week, we announced that we were partnering with Panera for the Healthy Living Challenge: A positive initiative to revamp our lifestyle by making small changes with a big impact on our everyday health and well-being. Whether that means eating more fruit instead of chips, moving around a little more, or just fitting some extra sleep into our schedules, healthy living doesn’t have to be difficult — and so far, the challenge has totally proved it.

Monday: Take a break from the digital stress.

Instead of scrolling through work emails or social media, unwind by chatting with a loved one or reading a book. It’s totally OK not to give in to digital FOMO sometimes — and, in fact, can actually help you have a more relaxing day.

Tuesday: Have a dance party with your BFF, or by yourself!

Find a tune you love and don’t stop moving until the song is over. Cardio doesn’t have to boring (or, you know, awful) — and with your bestie by your side it can actually be super fun.

Wednesday: Split a dessert with your bestie.

What better way to enjoy dessert than with your BFF? Just because you’re committed to a healthier you doesn’t mean you should deny yourself the pleasure of a delicious treat. Or, if you’re feeling a little selfish, eat half of the dessert now and then save the other half for later.

Thursday: After lunch, take a 10-minute break from all electronics and go for a walk.

Explore your neighborhood, or just get a little fresh air. We spend so much time staring at screens that it’s incredible what a difference a quick break can make. You never know what you might end up finding on your walk, and you’ll come back refreshed and ready to tackle work.

Friday: Have at least one digital-free meal.

Eat away from your computer and don’t look at your phone. Just enjoy your food! Treat yourself to a meal away from your desk and try out Panera’s new menu — including their summer salads with dressings free of artificial additives.
