Pamela Anderson Thanks Britney Spears For Her Support

Anderson sends Spears a letter, after the singer praised Anderson's sons on Instagram.

Pamela Anderson is Team Britney. While promoting her memoir on ET Canada, the Baywatch alum shared that she mailed Britney Spears a letter following the singer’s public show of support amid the premiere of her Netflix documentary, Pamela, A Love Story.

“I wrote her a letter back. Hopefully she’s received it by now, just a private letter,” Anderson revealed during her guest appearance.

She and Spears are more similar than different, Anderson noted. As high-profile women in the entertainment industry, both celebrities have endured very public hardships over the decades — and still are. Unfortunately, Anderson concluded, that’s put their personal lives up for public consumption and discussion.

“It’s hard when the people closest to you betray you or use you,” Anderson said. “You’re like a moneymaker. It’s painful.”

Last week on social media, Spears dubbed herself a big fan of the Playboy cover star. She also praised Anderson for taking control of the narrative, which has continued to spiral every which way following the series release of Hulu’s Pammy & Tommy.

“I’m such a fan of Pamela Anderson,” Spears wrote in a since-deleted post on Instagram, per ET Canada. “She was the only sex icon at one time in America and she still is !!!”

By watching Anderson, Spears said she learned “that people should support you exactly where you are in that moment of your life.”

Spears also shouted out Anderson’s adult sons, Brandon Thomas Lee and Dylan Jagger Lee. She commended their unwavering support towards their mom, and ensuring her story be told the right way.

“I really respect the fact that her children stood up for her relating to the fact that people were trying to sell her story from the past,” Spears continued. “They said, ‘Why the hell bring up things that happened 20 years ago if that really messed up my mom ???’ Referring to the embarrassing subject being sold in a comedic TV comparison … he’s right !!! He went on to say because of the embarrassment she went through a very dark period in her life … I mean when I read THAT, I was like DAMN!!!”

Similar to Anderson, Spears too has been a victim of other people profiting off her life story. In the last few years, several documentaries about the “Gimme More” singer have come out, none of which include interviews from Spears.

“With 4 documentaries released about me last year with people I adore speaking about my past !!!… Unfortunately, the way my past was portrayed in those documentaries was extremely embarrassing !!!” she said. “It felt semi-illegal !!!” she quipped.

Fans can now stream Anderson’s documentary, Pamela, A Love Story, on Netflix. Her memoir titled Love, Pamela is also available wherever books are sold.
