This author painted the first page of “Harry Potter” on her wall and it’s as magical as you’d expect

Harry Potter fans are a devoted bunch. Almost a decade after the seventh and final book was published, we still fangirl out over every little detail of the series, from new fan theories to the secrets that J.K. Rowling spills on Twitter. This Harry Potter fan loves the series so much, she took her love to the next level: She painted the words from the first page of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone on her wall.

Writer Meredith McCardle created the DIY project out of her love for the book series, and it’s seriously a work of art.

“I’m a writer myself, so I wanted to transform my home office into a place of inspiration,” McCardle told TODAY Home. “It was only natural to choose the first page of Harry Potter because those books were what kickstarted my love of children’s and young adult literature.”

So simple, but so gorgeous — and SO much work. To create the masterpiece, McCardle printed the first page of the book onto transparent film, then used an old-school overhead projector to display it on the wall. She traced each letter by hand with a pencil, then filled them in with paint.

And there you have it: Your very own Harry Potter wall! This is giving us serious house goals. Even author J.K. Rowling approves.
