The Oscars will be hosted by a duo this year — could it be Tina and Amy?

If you can believe it, we’re heading into Oscar movie season. The Oscars are undeniably Hollywood’s biggest night and the show is so big, it might as well have two hosts, right? There’s a brand new producing team for the Oscars this year — David Hill and Reginald Hudlin — and they’re looking to snag not just one fabulous host, but two. While two is always better than one, it really all comes down to which two he’s thinking about for the gig.

BECAUSE OBVIOUSLY WE’RE THINKING ABOUT THE DYNAMIC DUO OF TINA FEY AND AMY POEHLER.

Sorry for yelling, but hopefully Hill and Hudlin heard that. For the past three years, Fey and Poehler held down hosting duties for the Golden Globes, and they nailed it. Before that, the two held down the Weekend Update desk at SNL for two seasons. Before THAT, they were in Mean Girls together. Already, they bring to the table a very impressive resume, so where can we sign them up?

Hill and Hudlin have not come out and said which two hosts they’re looking for, but in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, they suggested that the host team they’re looking for is “well-known.” This could actually be a number of different comedy partners, from Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, to Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson, even Seth Rogen and James Franco. While we love all of these pairs so, so much and would be thrilled to find any one of them up on the Oscar stage… can we have Tina and Amy? Please?

The two were under contract obligations with the Golden Globes for the last three years to not host any other award shows. Now, that’s no longer an issue, since they have gracefully taken their leave from the American Foreign Press. And hey, the only place to go from the Globes is up. Then maybe from the Oscars, they can jump over to the Emmys, and then the Tonys, and finally the Grammys and complete their hosting EGOT. Just an idea.
