Yes, it’s true, Orlando Bloom is returning to ‘Pirates of the Carribean’

We missed Orlando Bloom in the last ‘Pirates’ movie. Sure, we had Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow and Geoffrey Rush as Barbossa in 2011’s Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, but where was our beloved Will Turner?

For those of you who like your ‘Pirates’ movies with a dose of Bloom, you are in luck- we just found out that Orlando is returning to the Pirates franchise for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, which will hit theaters in 2017.

Other Pirates returnees? Well, Depp and Rush (of COURSE, it wouldn’t be a ‘Pirates’ movie without Sparrow and Barbossa), plus Kevin R. McNally as Gibbs and Stephen Graham as Scrum.

And what of Keira Knightley’s Elizabeth Swann? She was last seen in the third ‘Pirates’ (that would be At The World’s End) and so far, there’s no word of her returning for the fifth installment (though we must NEVER count out a surprise cameo). That said, we will be getting Kaya Scodelario as Carina Smith (whom we first fell in love with as Effy Stonem in Skins, and who kicks all the butt in the Maze Runner franchise), and we’re very fangirl-excited about that.

By the time Dead Men Tell No Tales hits theaters, it will have been SIX YEARS since the last installment, so we’re long overdue, and we’re so jazzed to see Orlando Bloom return to reprise the role he plays so awesomely. In the meantime, we can catch Bloom in this summer’s indie Digging For Fire, and next year’s thriller Unlocked.
