You’re going to the Oprah auction! We’re going to the Oprah auction! Everybody’s going to the Oprah auction!
So we already know that Oprah is a super successful, accomplished woman, both in business and in media. She’s one of the richest people ever. (“YOU get a car! YOU get a car! EVERYBODY GETS A CAR.”) We also know that she’s super, super fabulous and has a wonderful sense of style. So the thought of going to an Oprah auction makes us a little weak at the knees.
Guys, our dream has come true. Leslie Hindman Auctioneers has announced the sale of property that belongs to the fab Oprah Winfrey. That’s right: there’s going to be an auction of some of Oprah’s belongings on April 25 in the Leslie Hindman Auctioneers’ Chicago salesroom.
Extra exciting? The auction will benefit the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy Foundation, because Oprah is the most benevolent lady out there. The foundation supports “the continued education of the students from the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls – South Africa as they continue their education at universities in South Africa and a range of prestigious American institutions such as Stanford University, Spelman College, Smith College, Brown University and others.”
So what will this auction be comprised of? We won’t know EVERYTHING that will be up for sale until exhibitions start on April 16th, but we’ve got the deets. Firstly, it’s comprised of over 500 lots and includes “English, French and Continental furniture and decorative arts, paintings, prints, drawings, porcelain, crystal, silver, memorabilia, clothing and accessories,” according to Leslie Hindman Auctioneers. Here’s the mindblowing thing: the majority of the collection is from Oprah’s very own apartment.
