Selena Gomez Teases ‘Only Murders In The Building’ Season 3 With New Costars Paul Rudd and Meryl Streep

Filming for 'OMITB' season 3 is officially underway!

After Only Murders In The Building’s climatic season two finale (à la the surprise introduction and sudden death of Paul Rudd’s character), we didn’t think season three’s cast could get anymore iconic… until now. Meryl Streep has entered the building, literally.

Series regular Selena Gomez (Mable) announced the exciting news via Instagram alongside costars Steve Martin (Charles) and Martin Short (Oliver) from their premiere Upper West Side apartment building, the Arconia.

“Guys! We’re on set! What are we shooting? Season 3,” Gomez enthusiastically greets fans while perched in between Martin and Short. “The gang is back!” she adds, panning the camera to include Andrea Martin (Joy) and Rudd in the video

“Yay! Could this honestly get any better?” Gomez continues. Taunting the camera with a sly smile, Rudd responds, “Well, I do think it could get a little bit better.”

For die-hard fans, Rudd’s appearance was no surprise; but what they weren’t expecting was a cameo from Streep!

As Gomez slowly brings herself and Martin back into focus, Streep jumps out from her hiding place behind the couch.

“Steve, do you want a pillow?” Streep asks Martin, before turning to Short and asking if he needs anything to which he quips, “Just the tea that I had asked for half an hour ago, thank you.”

Trying to hold back her excitement, Gomez, whose jaw is nearly on the floor, chimes in: “I’m okay. Thank you, ma’am. You’re sweet.”

What in the name of Brazzos is going on? Is Streep playing Oliver’s new love interest? Will she portray Gomez’s estranged grandmother? Is she the murder in the building?

Fan theories are quickly rolling in; but until we get a show description from Hulu, all bets are off. In the meantime, you can catch up on season one and two of Only Murders In The Building on Hulu.
