One way to fight hate and stand up for Orlando? #KeepKissing
After the senseless tragedy in Orlando, the largest mass shooting in U.S. history, it can be hard to know how to show your support for those affected. Donating time is wonderful, donating blood or funds is also key, but so is showing love and expressing just what a powerful tool the heart is.
With this message in mind, HuffPost Queer started a hashtag in order to spread a little love on this terribly sad week. They’re encouraging people to share images of themselves kissing, along with the hashtag #KeepKissing.
They tweeted: “In light of the horrific tragedy that took place in Orlando yesterday, we want to show the world that we stand together unafraid in the face of hate and that we won’t be chased back into the shadows. Help us do that by tweeting a photo of yourself kissing the same-sex partner, friend — or just someone you find hot, smart or kind — using the hashtag #KeepKissing.” false
In the wake of the shooting many people are expressing fear at living as their true selves, but as Martin Luther King Jr. said, “Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”
