The one thing you never noticed about Disney’s Princess Merida

You know them, you love them, you buy all their merchandise in bulk even though you’re an adult, but you might not have noticed this particular detail about one of your favorite Disney Princesses. While Disney Princesses are known for their spunky spirit, beautiful ballgowns, and huge hearts, they’ve also all got their own catchy song to sing, too.

Except for Merida.

Where the Disney Princess ranks stand right now, Merida is the only one who does not sing a single note in her entire movie.

Yup. Princess Merida, from Disney/Pixar’s 2012 Brave, who was officially coronated as a Disney Princesses in 2013, doesn’t have a song. Literally all the other Disney Princesses have a song, or two, or a duet with a Prince (or an anamorphic animal):

Merida does actually has a song, and it’s called “Touch the Sky” and it plays over her adventurous montage. But that’s not Merida singing. She doesn’t have a solo, a duet, or any kind of dance number.

Not that we mind this. Merida is strong, brave, and a perfect princess with or without a song.
