The new setting for “Once Upon a Time” will be a city, and this will immediately prove difficult for Adult Henry
Prepare to say goodbye to Storybrooke, Once Upon a Time fans. There’s a new neighborhood opening up for the fairy tale crew, and things are about to get waaaaay more complicated. Once Upon a Time‘s cast and crew attended Comic-Con last week and revealed all kinds of juicy tidbits about the upcoming seventh season — including details on the series’ brand new location and a terrifying new twist.
*Slight spoilers up ahead here.*
Basically, Adult Henry, Regina, Hook, and Rumple are all going to be put under a curse by Cinderella’s evil stepmother, Lady Tremaine — and it’s up to Henry’s daughter, Lucy, to save them.
The characters will be living in Hyperion Heights, a “densely populated” city with non-fairy tale and fairy tale folk alike.
“We’re going to see in Hyperion Heights that the role Lady Tremaine has taken is very similar in terms of getting to the top, in terms of being a developer, who is this character who is trying to push out the fairy tale characters who are living in Hyperion Heights, gentrifying the neighborhood and bringing other people in," executive producer David H. Goodman said, according to EW.com.
Oh, and Lady Tremaine won’t be making the same slip-ups that Regina did.
You know, by cramming all the characters together and making it pretty easy to eventually figure out what is what.
“You push them the hell out and you gentrify the neighborhood,” executive producer Edward Kitsis said. “And you bring in a cold press juicer and they can’t afford it anymore, then you won’t worry about the Pied Piper finding, you know, Alice.”
No word yet on exactly what this curse Lady Tremaine has inflicted on the crew, but Goodman said that she’s learned a whole lot from past curses, so that she can be as “effective” a villain as possible.
Chilling.
We’re excited for this new universe to unfold when Once Upon a Time returns October 6th (aka three months from now…not that we’re counting or anything).
