Welp, it’s official: The entire Charming family is leaving Storybrooke on “Once Upon A Time”
The good news is that Once Upon A Time is coming back for Season 7. The bad news is that a few notable faces will not be returning to the show, and right now, this doesn’t feel like a happily ever after.
Earlier this week, Jennifer Morrison — who has played heroine Emma Swan for the past six seasons — announced that she would not be continuing on for Season 7. And now, the rest of her family is following suit. It’s just been announced that Ginnifer Goodwin (Snow White), Josh Dallas (Prince Charming), and Jared S. Gilmore (Snow White and Price Charming’s grandson) will *NOT* be back in Storybrooke in the fall.
Also not returning, Emilie de Ravin (Belle) and Rebecca Mader (The Wicked Witch of the West).
???
"Words can’t do justice to what Ginny, Josh, Emilie, Rebecca and Jared brought to 'Once Upon a Time'…but we’ll try… Never have we had the privilege of working with a more talented group of collaborators. Each brought unique talent, incredible intelligence, and their own individual bit of magic as they gave life to these iconic characters," ABC wrote in a press release. "As 'Once' continues, this group will always be the beating heart of the show. And even though we won’t be with them every week, in a show about magic and hope, we fervently believe it won’t be the last we see of them."
Morrison has already mentioned that she’ll be back for ONE episode in Season 7; it’s unclear if the rest of this group will also reprise their roles at some point down the road. The season finale of the show airs this week, and it’s *thought* that a time-jump might move the series forward a few years — so it kinda makes sense that this core group will be MIA. But also, we already miss them.
Not all is lost, as Lana Parrilla (Regina), Robert Carlyle (Mr. Gold), and Colin O’Donoghue (Captain Hook) are signed on for next season. BUT STILL. Storybrooke will always be pretty magical, but now it’s just going to be a a tad less magical.
