OMG, Russell Brand is officially a dad!
We’re sure his “dad jokes” will be hilariously inappropriate. Many congrats to Russell Brand, a “brand” new Dad who welcomed his first child with fiancée Laura Gallacher. (And hey, you can steal that awful wordplay for later, Russell. Consider it a gift. A wonderful gift.)
Brand, 41, announced the arrival of his new baby during a stand-up routine in Nottingham, England. The new mom, Laura Gallacher, is a blogger who’s been dating Brand on-and-off since 2007. So, these two definitely have quite the history together.
Brand announced the baby to his fans in a humorous way this July. Using his Instagram account, he snapped a photo of a recent gift from his Mom.
While the sex and name of the new arrival has yet to be announced, Brand made it clear that he didn’t want to know whether or not his new child would be a boy or a girl prior to the birth. So, of course he’s given us no hints or clues.
"I might never find out," he joked in an interview with Evening Standard. "I may never look."
During the interview, he also mentioned that he was really excited about being a new Dad.
"I feel lit up by the idea," he said. "I’m very excited about becoming a dad and I’m preparing myself. I am just getting ready to be with a new little person and see what it is they want."
At least Brand has one kids movie under his belt — he’s one of the many celebrities who has lent his voice for the movie Trolls, which is now in theaters. We have a feeling that baby Brand will probably be a huge fan of the movie when it hits DVD!
