OMG, Lorde held a secret concert in the California desert and debuted new music

After being out of the spotlight for almost three years — her last major live show was in December 2014! — Lorde has finally returned to the stage, and we couldn’t be happier about it. On Friday night, Lorde surprised her fans with a pre-Coachella concert at Pappy & Harriet’s, a tiny, saloon-style venue in the California desert where such artists as Paul McCartney, Vampire Weekend, Rufus Wainwright, the Arctic Monkeys and Lucinda Williams have graced the stage.

The sneaky singer announced the surprise performance to her 4.6M Twitter followers just six hours before the event, tweeting out a link to purchase tickets priced at $20, to celebrate her being 20 years old. Tickets, according to the show’s promoters, sold out in under a minute. But the 300 fans who were lucky enough (and fast enough) to secure a space at the quaint venue were treated to new songs from the Grammy Award winner’s upcoming album, Melodrama. false

At the Pappy & Harriet’s show, Lorde debuted the song “Sober” from Melodrama, and revisited some old faves. She also performed the new tracks “Green Light” and “Liability” — and frankly the whole thing is giving us major FOMO vibes. If you’re bummed you missed out too, we’ve got you covered — thankfully, some awesome fans who did attend the show managed to share some footage online.

We can’t stop watching these clips! Lorde obviously didn’t disappoint. Did we mention how happy we are to have her back?
