Omarosa has joined the cast of “Celebrity Big Brother,” and people have feelings

On December 13th, it was officially announced that Omarosa Manigault Newman would be leaving her position at the White House after less than a year of service. Omarosa, as she is most commonly known, was the senior aide to President Donald Trump, as well as one of his most loyal supporters. A little over a month later, it seems that Omarosa has found a new position: It was announced today that Omarosa has joined the cast of Celebrity Big Brother.

For those who haven’t seen it, Big Brother is a reality TV game show. It follows a group of contestants, known as HouseGuests, who live together in a home under constant surveillance. They are completely isolated from the outside world and don’t have any communication with people who aren’t in the house. The whole time, they’re competing for a grand prize of $500,000 — if they don’t quit the house first. Celebrity Big Brother is a spinoff that follows the same ideas, except the house is made up of stars rather than average people.

Omarosa is no stranger to reality TV, and many felt that her unusually senior position at the White House was only thanks to her friendship with Trump, so it’s really no surprise that she’s gone back to reality television when that didn’t work out. Omarosa became famous when she was a contestant on the first season of Trump’s show, The Apprentice. She was on Celebrity Apprentice and made appearances in many other reality shows. In 2013, TV Guide added her to the list of The 60 Nastiest TV Villains Of All Time.

Thanks to her reputation and her recent White House controversy, Omarosa is sure to pull in viewers. She’ll be joined by actress Shannon Elizabeth from American Pie, Sugar Ray’s Mark McGrath, The Cosby Show’s Keshia Knight Pulliam, Real Housewife Brandi Glanville, former NBA star Metta World Peace, UFC light heavyweight champ Chuck Liddell, actors James Maslow and Marissa Winokur, TV personality Ross Matthews, and Miss Columbia, Ariadna Gutierrez. That’s quite a list!

Twitter, obviously feels all kinds of ways about it:

Before the announcement was made, host Julie Chen posted this tweet, using emojis to describe the new cast:

Although we heard Omarosa would be leaving the White House in December, her departure wasn’t effective until January 20th. It’s not clear when she signed up for Celebrity Big Brother.

The new season will start on February 7th on CBS, and many are expected to tune in. Omarosa is a pretty big pull, and with the possibility of her slipping some White House secrets, things have definitely just gotten a little more interesting.
