The Olsens were too busy for “Fuller House” because they’re opening up a retail store
We already knew that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were too busy ruling the fashion world to join Uncle Jesse, D.J., Stephanie and the rest of the Tanner family in the upcoming season of Fuller House, but it looks like their schedules are about to get even crazier. The duo is not only bringing their contemporary line, Elizabeth and James, in-house, they’re also opening up the brand’s first retail store at The Grove in Los Angeles.
According to Women’s Wear Daily, the boutique will feature ready-to-wear, accessories, jewelry, fragrance and vintage. While this will be the first brick-and-mortar for the brand, their luxury label, The Row, has had its own L.A. location since May 2014. Until now, Elizabeth and James has only been available in other stores such as Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, and Net-a-porter.com.
Their successful fragrance collection, Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black and Nirvana White, have been exclusive to Sephora since 2013 and will soon expand their distribution to other retailers. “We’ve been doing The Row in-house for the past 10 years, and it’s been a slow, steady growth and very strategic,” Mary-Kate told WWD. “It was just the right time. We’re very involved with product and very involved with make and quality. It was really important to tell the same story. When you have a brand, it’s important that the message is the same.”
Though we will definitely miss seeing Michelle on Fuller House, it’s awesome to know the Olsen sisters are continuing to dominate the fashion business.
