Oklahoma Tornado: How You Can Help
On Monday, a monster tornado ripped through Oklahoma City taking homes and innocent lives with it. So far, there have been dozens of reported deaths and massive destruction, but thanks to the help of many, there have been over 100 rescues.
I tend to feel powerless and frustrated that I cannot help in the wake of destruction. But this isn’t true – we can all help Oklahoma!
One of the best ways to help is to donate at RedCross.org or text REDCROSS to 90999.
The Salvation Army has mobilized a number of emergency relief services in Oklahoma. You can donate online or text STORM to 80888 to contribute $10 to the Salvation Army’s relief efforts or make a donation via phone at 1-800-SAL-ARMY.
United Way of Central Oklahoma’s Disaster Relief Fund is open. Donations may be made online here. Checks, with a notation of “May Tornado Relief” can also be sent to the United Way of Central Oklahoma, P.O. Box 837, Oklahoma City, OK , 73101.
You can keep up to date with the disaster relief with Red Cross Oklahoma’s Twitter.
