OKCupid will now reveal this one important thing about your matches
When it comes to dating sites, each one offers something a little bit different. Speaking of different, OkCupid will tell you which guys support Planned Parenthood, which is kinda-sorta the best information to know before wasting your time and money on someone who doesn’t share the same critical views as you.
The company announced this awesome update yesterday through their blog, and we’re already excited to see how it changes up our dating game.
"Today, we’re introducing a Planned Parenthood Badge to help our members connect over what’s important to them," the blog stated. "The badge will read '#IStandWithPP' and will be prominently displayed on the profile of every OkCupid member who has publicly responded 'no' to the question 'Should the government defund Planned Parenthood?'"
While it seems simple, it’s actually a pretty incredible move by the dating site — after all, anything that bring extra awareness to matters regarding women’s health is important.
According to OkCupid, 90% of the millennial women who use the site agree that defunding Planned Parenthood would be a bad move.
"We are really proud to be on the only dating app that can reflect back what is happening in our communities and what people care about," said OkCupid Chief Marketing Officer Melissa Hobley, according to Glamour. "When we talked to our community and looked at our data, we saw that Planned Parenthood had incredible support. And we saw that it mattered to young women in particular."
Hobley also reiterated some real facts — roughly one in five women will visit a Planned Parenthood in their lifetime, which means that the organization is more popular than people might assume.
The badge isn’t the only thing that OkCupid announced. They also made it clear that they’ll be matching dollars donated to Planned Parenthood up to $50,000.
This isn’t the first time that OkCupid made their political stance well known. Just last month, they announced that a known white supremacist was banned for life.
We were alerted that white supremacist Chris Cantwell was on OkCupid. Within 10 minutes we banned him for life.

So, even if you’ve been taking a break from online dating these days, you might want to log in to OkCupid and answer the question — if anything, as just a “thank you” for asking it in the first place.
