Oh yes. Shonda Rhimes is publishing a book about a year of “saying yes.”

Can we just go ahead and dub 2015 the Year of Shonda? The showrunner, writer, and champion for diversity in media has received so much well-deserved recognition for her contributions to the world of television (and we’re completely obsessed with her shows). Not only has she won Writers and Directors Guild Awards, Image Awards, GLAAD Awards, but earlier this year she received the Ally for Equality award from the Human Rights Campaign. She also recently announced she has yet another television show in the works, an adaptation of a book about America’s Great Migration into a limited series for FX. And now, even more exciting news out of ShondaLand — she’s writing a book!

Shonda made the official announcement via her Twitter feed on Tuesday, linking to a press release and expressing her bountiful emotions:

The book will be titled Year of Yes and, according to Simon & Schuster, will chronicle the moment starting back in December 2013 when Shonda decided to start saying yes to all potential opportunities. “Saying yes for an entire year turned out to be one of the most amazing decisions I have ever made,” Shonda said in the press release. “It was also a little insane, a lot terrifying and sometimes wildly embarrassing. So this is not a story I ever planned to share with anyone.”

Shonda might be experiencing mixed emotions about saying yes, but she’s also sharing a really inspiring philosophy about taking chances and hitting fears head on. We can’t wait to read her sage words of wisdom.

The book is scheduled for release in November 2015 — just in time for you to buy a copy for yourself and everyone you know as an early Christmas gift. In the meantime, we’ll just be over here marathoning all the ShondaLand shows. There are plenty of them.
