Oh la la, Céline Dion is going to sing a brand new song for “Beauty and the Beast”

The live action Beauty and the Beast film is just about two months away, and we’re learning new bits about the film EVERY day. After months of getting the scoop on the film itself, we’re now learning about the music for the upcoming film. Last week, it was revealed that Ariana Grande and John Legend would be performing the title duet “Beauty and the Beast” which was made famous by Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson.

And, while we’re thrilled about the new duet and think it’ll sound incredible, we were a little saddened, as we couldn’t imagine a new Beauty and the Beast soundtrack without an appearance from the Canadian Queen of Pop. But fear not, because this new Beauty and the Beast movie won’t be Dion-free. The singer has officially tweeted that she’ll be singing a NEW song “How Does A Moment Last Forever” for the film.

Alan Menken, who composed the original Beauty and the Beast film returned to score and write new music for the live action film, including “How Does a Moment Last Forever” with Tim Rice serving as lyricist.

Last September, Menken opened up about returning to Beauty and the Beast for the third time. He explained,

“It’s exciting. For me because I’m writing the new songs and scoring the new movie, it’s a lot of work. It’s interesting and it’s challenging to come back to the same source material three times. And in this case I’m really taking my lead — I am bearer of the flame to a degree, but I want to be as good a team member with Bill Condon as I can be. So I’m really taking my lead from him as a director, and he’s doing a great job.

We can’t even begin to describe how happy we are to hear Celine sing in another Beauty and the Beast film. Now, we definitely can’t wait until March!
