There’s already an official “Spider-Man: Homecoming” sequel

The long-awaited trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming was released on Thursday. And because people just can’t get enough of Peter Parker, Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 has already officially been announced.

Even though the first film isn’t due to hit theaters until July 7th, 2017, Sony has already announced that the sequel will open on Friday, July 5th, 2019.

So, yeah, they’re planners. And clearly super confident about the first movie’s success.

The studio released the date of the sequel more than TWO YEARS EARLY, because the launch of the trailer on Thursday was so crazy successful. People are already obsessed. Which, TBH, is no surprise. Spider-Man just has that effect on people.

But the best part of all of this? Spider-Man: Homecoming looks like it’s going to be the funniest Marvel movie yet.

The film stars Tom Holland as Spider-Man, Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May and Michael Keaton as The Vulture.

Even though it’s only December of 2016 right now, we’re already ready for July. And then we’ll be ready for July 2019 right after that. Because there’s nothing we love more than a Marvel movie that looks simultaneously badass and hilarious, and introduces a brand new actor as one of our beloved comic book characters.

See you soon, July 2017. And then see you soon (but definitely not as soon), July 2019.
