It’s official. Our ‘Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants’ godmother-related dreams came totally true
The friendship between The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants’ gals Bridget, Carmen, Libby, and Lena is still alive and well, which fills us with absolute joy. The actresses who played them — Blake Lively, America Ferrera, Amber Tamblyn, and Alexis Bledel — have an IRL friendship that seems to grow stronger every single day. We are envious of their gal-pal-circle, and will admit to thinking of these girls as the pinnacle of #FriendshipGoals. What’s the latest thing this foursome is up to? Oh you know, just all being godmothers to Blake’s new baby girl, James.
Previously this whole threeway-godmother-sitch was a rumor, and we wished and hoped it was a rumor amazing enough to be true. Turns out, it is! This idea was floated back in January when Blake gave birth to James (also, let’s just remind everyone reading at home that James’ dad is Ryan Reynolds), but it was never confirmed by the squad.
Also, again, allow us to present “the squad”:
Well now Amber herself has confirmed the joint godmother status. She did so while talking to Nick Lachey on VH1’s Morning Buzz. He asked Amber if the rumors were indeed true saying: “The three of you are godmothers to Blake Lively’s baby — is that a fact?” She responded with, “That is a fact.” And it is a fact that fills our hearts with so much joy and love.
When I picture them all being godmothers, I do in fact picture them all dressed up as the fairy godmother from Cinderella, dancing around a crib that Ryan built with his own two hands. That’s probably not what the scene actually looks like, but it’s a nice, magical picture to keep in mind. In this case, though, the real thing is likely SO much better. Is it cool that we’re super jealous of Baby James?
