Obama wished Joe Biden Happy Birthday with a meme, and they are forever #BestFriendGoals

It’s long been known that President Barack Obama and former Vice President Joe Biden have a meme-worthy bromance. And it turns out they’re in on the joke. In fact, Obama “memed” himself in his birthday tweet to Biden.

He tweeted a photo of Biden smiling and pointing behind him during the 2014 State of the Union address. Obama wrote:

Me: Joe, about halfway through the speech I’m gonna wish you a happy birth—

Biden: IT’S MY BIRTHDAY

Me: Joe.

After he made the initial joke, Obama tweeted heartfelt birthday wishes to Biden, further cementing them as the best besties of all time.

"Happy birthday to @JoeBiden, my brother and the best vice president anybody could have," he wrote.

Biden explained his expression in the photo to Seth Myers in a 2014 episode of Late Night. Apparently, Biden had been warned by a senator not to stand and applaud everything Obama said during the State of the Union. But Biden was amused to catch that same senator standing multiple times throughout Obama’s speech.

Obama and Biden have embraced their internet popularity, and they even have their own favorite memes about their friendship. Last year, Biden contributed to the internet lovefest on Obama’s birthday when he tweeted a picture of friendship bracelets that read “Joe” and “Barack.” In the tweet, Biden wrote that Obama was a “best friend, forever.”

There have been rumors that Biden may run for president in 2020, but he has said he still hasn’t made an official decision. Either way, it gives us life to see that Obama and Biden are still so close.

We wish Joe Biden a happy 75th birthday, and we hope to receive more hilarious former president-vice president memes in the future.
