Rebecca Minkoff’s NYFW show proves this 90’s trend is here to stay

This afternoon, we attended one of our favorite designer’s New York Fashion Week shows: Rebecca Minkoff! Her looks were oh-so perfect for fall, and the best part is, her entire runway collection is already available online. Meaning, you can wear the looks you just saw on the NYFW runway RIGHT now.

There were definitely some standout trends in her pieces: statement coats, velvet, and tons of sequins. But what really stood out about Rebecca’s Fall ’16 show was the styling. Her love for the 90’s shone through, and she made it clear that one 90’s trend in particular is here to stay.

Two of Rebecca’s models rocked the slip-dress-over-the-T-shirt look on the runway, and we’re feeling inspired all over again.

Here, Caroline Vreeland expertly wears the Sweatshirt with Sequins in grey (it says “Text Me You Love Me”) under the velvet Yoshi Dress in aubergine (which also comes in black).

And here, Ji Young Kwak looks effortlessly cool in the lace Johnston Top in chalk under the sequin Claire Dress in navy.

Rebecca Minkoff, you are our style muse. We’re calling it: Expect to see a resurgence of this 90’s trend this fall!
