This nurse reacting to her patient walking is every happy emotion we’ve ever had
Nurses have one of the hardest jobs—they work tirelessly to heal people everyday. And after giving their all, they get to experience the happiest of victories: watching a patient they have bonded with, cared for and loved, become well again. A video of one particularly powerful recovery has been circulating on the interwebz, and it’s completely SHATTERED our hearts in the best possible way.
In Denton, Texas, mother Becky Murrill posted the video on Facebook, explaining that her daughter had been paralyzed from the waist down for 11 days and doctors had no idea why, according to Daily Mail.
After the 11 days, Bailey had started to regain feeling in her legs again and was, amazingly, able to stand up. One of Bailey’s absolute favorite nurses was coming on shift, and Bailey decided to surprise her. . . and the resulting video made us cry SO many happy tears. The nurse responded by screaming, then sobbing and hugging Bailey for ages as they both cry in each other’s arms.
“I told you, just keep that faith,” the nurse tells her.
The video is titled “Love our nurses!” and has over 3 million views on YouTube, and for good reason. Now, commenters on Reddit are expressing their deep appreciation for nurses and everything they do.
We’d like to add to the chorus: Nurses dedicate so much of their time and energy, and they exude compassion and generosity. Now, watch this video and get the tissues ready.
