STOP EVERYTHING: *NSYNC is reuniting for a special occasion, and we’re freaking out

You might want to find a seat for this news because *NSYNC might be reforming and OH MY GOODNESS WE’RE FREAKING OUT.

During the Super Bowl we were reminded of our undying love for *NSYNC when Christopher Walken whispered the lyrics to “Bye Bye Bye” in one of the commercials. It also reminded us that the band had mini-reunion last year at JC Chasez’s 40th birthday party, AND that the band had been nominated to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

However, we were also reminded earlier this year of the reason that Justin Timberlake left the group, citing that he’d felt that he’d grown out of the group by the time he went solo.

However, now Lance Bass has teased fans of *NSYNC by saying that they have some thing special planned for this year.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Bass said that to celebrate the 20th anniversary of *NSYNC’s 1998 Christmas album, Home for Christmas, a special re-issue of the LP was set for release on vinyl for the first time.

"We’re coming out with a really cool vinyl edition of our Christmas album because it’s coming up on the 20 years of that album, he told ET. “And then we’re going to be getting our star on the Walk of Fame this year at some point.

Continuing, Bass went on to say that, despite being awarded the star last year, the band members’s busy schedules meant it was hard to get together.

“We’re terrible at planning things,” he said. “We’re five guys, so for us to make a decision about anything is really hard, so we just need to do it. So hopefully maybe around Christmas time.

“It’ll be fun to see everybody again.”

Given that it’s a special occasion, then, Bass also teased the following:

"We’re doing something. I don’t know if I can announce it yet.

O-M-G! What does it mean!? It wouldn’t be the first time that *NSYNC have reformed for a special occasion. In 2013, the band got together to celebrate Justin Timberlake‘s winning of Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the VMAs.

We’d be SO into a *NSYNC reunion show, tour, single, ANYTHING! While we know that people do move on, our nostalgia for those sweet, sweet, pop songs is palpable.

Whether we *do* get a proper reunion or not, it’ll be good to see the band together for their Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, and we can’t wait to get our paws on that Christmas vinyl!
