Soooo they’ve made a sequel to ‘Now You See Me’ and Harry Potter is in it
Now You See Me was a surprise hit of 2013, but everything about it was actually part of a huge recipe for success. A+ cast, including Woody Harrelson, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, and Mark Ruffalo, AND Jesse Eisenberg and Isla Fisher? Check. Cool and crazy magic tricks that mess with your mind? Check. A band of magicians on some Robin Hood-like quest to steal from the rich and give to the poor? Big check next to that one. Now take all that, and mix in one Harry Potter, and you’ve got yourself the new recipe for Now You See Me 2.
Picking up three years after the events of the first film, Now You See Me 2: The Second Act once again finds The Four Horsemen performing tricks, throwing money into the air, and going up against some shady business. Daniel Radcliffe is more than likely behind this shady business, because he’s listed as playing “Walter Tressler,” who’s the son of Caine’s Arthur Tressler, but I won’t spoil anything else for you. Except for the fact that it appears as if in Now You See Me 2, Radcliffe is anything but magical.
Also joining the cast this time is Lizzy Caplan, who’s now a member of the Horseman in place of Fisher’s Henley Reeves (who had to opt out because she was pregnant during filming). Even though the cast might look slightly different, they haven’t lost their flair for the dramatics. Eisenberg’s Danny not only stops the rain, but then reverses the rain, and then disappears literally into a puddle. Show off.
Check out the trailer below, and Now You See Me 2 will appear in theaters on June 10th, 2016.
