We can now play tons of our favorite 1990’s computer games

There are so many things we wish we could bring back from the 90’s: Blockbuster, light-up sneakers, the Spice Girls. Luckily, when it comes to computer games, Microsoft has got us covered. Archive.org just resurrected a ton of games from the early 90’s Microsoft 3.1 operating system, all completely playable from the comfort of our modern laptops.

According to the library, Windows 3.1 was first launched in 1992 and introduced many key features such as software enhancements and new fonts, but what everyone cared most about were the games. The games library has over 1,000 files, ranging from classics like Monopoly and Minesweeper to something called “Battle Hamster.”

No longer do we have to be nostalgic for the days of staying home sick from school and passing the time playing pinball on our clunky PCs. The more time passes, the more nostalgia will likely be unearthed, and the digital age makes it so easy to find and enjoy relics of the past that, pre-Internet, would have likely been lost.

The only downside? We’re just as bad at the games as we used to be.
