Not getting enough sleep before you drive is a serious issue
Short on sleep? A new study says you better hold off on that road trip.
The report from AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety claims missing even just two hours of sleep makes it dangerous to drive — it quadruples the likelihood of crashing your vehicle.
The data, collected from 4,571 police-reported crashes that included 7,234 drivers, reveals drivers who slept five to six hours are twice as likely to crash.
Drivers who’ve only slept four to five hours (just two to three hours less than seven hours, the minimum recommended amount of sleep) quadruple the risk of a crash.
In fact, the study claims anyone driving on four to five hours a sleep is just as likely to crash as a drunk driver. ARE YOU HEARING THIS? THIS IS MADNESS.

“We never really truly understand how tired we are, Transportation safety consultant Pam Fischer told The Huffington Post. “That’s the scary thing about fatigue.
Check out the data for yourself
Drivers who slept six to seven hours were 1.3 times more likely to crash
Drivers who slept five to six hours were 1.9 times more likely to crash
Drivers who slept four to five hours were 4.3 times more likely to crash
Drivers who slept fewer than four hours were 11.5 times more likely to crash
