Really happening: Lil Bub is releasing an album

We all know about Lil Bub, the cutest lil cat on the Internet, if not in the entire world. But just in case you don’t know of this precious bundle of adorableness, here’s a pic so you can understand our obsession:

YEP. What a cutie. We’ll get to this whole album thing in a sec, but here’s some background biographical info on Lil Bub: Just four years ago in July of 2011, she was born the runt of a healthy feral litter of kittens in Indiana and was taken in as a rescue. Born with a ton of genetic anomalies, she’s a “perma-kitten” (meaning she will stay kitten-sized forever), and an extreme case of dwarfism has made her limbs disproportionately small in comparison to the rest of her body. She also has a very short upper jaw, meaning her tongue is almost always hanging out in the cutest way. Well, naturally, this combination of traits made Lil Bub perfect for Internet stardom. And today on BuzzFeed, she announced her very own album, entitled “Science & Magic,” that will be released on Joyful Noise Recordings on December 4th but is available for pre-order now. OMG.

So you may be wondering. . . how is a cat coming out with an album? Listen, non-believers, here’s how: by working with her BFFs, Mike and Andrew. “Not only is she the softest creature I have ever encountered,” Andrew W.K. told BuzzFeed, “she is also the most musically and compassionately gifted.”

In creating this “soundtrack to the universe itself,” Lil Bub has been very specific about the sounds she wants, says Mike. “I wouldn’t say she’s hard to work with, but she’s certainly particular,” he explained in the mini-documentary about “Science & Magic.”

Honestly, we suggest you watch the whole thing below, because it’s the cutest thing in the world. CONGRATS, BUB. We know you’re gonna rule the world with your crazy kitty talent.
