The 2018 Golden Globe nominations are here

The Golden Globe Awards have always been a special event, honoring the very best in both film and television. That’s why we’ve been so eager to see the list of 2018 Golden Globes nominees, because there have been so many inspiring films and shows this year that deserve the recognition.

The Golden Globes started back in 1944, and this year marks its 75th awards show. Seth Meyers was recently announced as the host of this year’s Globes, which will be broadcast on January 7th.

To summarize the 2018 nominations, it looks like you might want to catch The Shape of Water before the big show. The drama, which stars Octavia Spencer, was nominated for seven categories. The Post and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri — the latter which prominently features actress Frances McDormand — follow up in the movie category with six nominations each. A few television shows also raked in the big numbers. It should come as no surprise, but Big Little Lies leads the way with six, followed by Feud: Bette and Joan which was nominated for four categories. Hits like Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale and This Is Us — two shows we adore — have also made their way into three categories each. Based on these noms, we already know it’s going to be tough to declare winners this year.

Here are some of the big categories. You may want to place your bets now as to who’ll be taking home the trophies.
