Good news, there’s now a Chrome extension to help you avoid “Game of Thrones” spoilers
The internet is dark and full of Game of Thrones spoilers. But it doesn’t have to be.
Just like there was a Star Wars spoiler blocker released just before Force Awakens, we’ve now got one for Game of Thrones, and it is a LIFE SAVER. Because if you miss Game of Thrones when it airs at 6pm EST, well, constant vigilance, friends.
The new Chrome extension is called GameofSpoils, and it is a “spoiler blocking plugin for your Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, and Google News feeds.” When it detects a spoiler, or something that might be a spoiler, the area will be blacked out.
“Any blocked spoiler can be viewed by the brave of heart by clicking on the blacked-out area– this will cause the post to be gradually unveiled, giving you about 3 more seconds to glance away!” GameofSpoils wants to make sure you really REALLY want to see what’s hidden underneath.
Currently, GameofSpoils blocks all key words like “Winterfell” and “Targaryen” along with two-dozen different actor’s names as well. You can even add in your own phrase to block like, “Dany sets a building on fire,” because you never know when that might happen.
With each possible spoiler, you also get a really fun Game of Thrones related death for each one. My entire Facebook timeline has basically been pushed through the Moon Door!
Just keep in mind, GameofSpoils doesn’t work with every website you might visit. The big ones like Facebook and Twitter — where you’re going to see the MOST spoilers posted — 100% work, and leave 98% of the page in total blackout. This extension will certainly help, but really, the only way to avoid Game of Thrones spoilers is to watch the episode ASAP.
Enjoy your new mostly-spoiler free browsing!!
