Niecy Nash Just Got Married, and She Shared the Most Gorgeous Photos With Her New Wife
You have to see her mermaid dress.
Congratulations are in order for actress and comedian Niecy Nash, who just announced via Twitter that she has married musician Jessica Betts.
The surprise post is more than a heartwarming wedding announcement. It also appears to be a prideful public coming-out moment for Nash, as up until now, she was not publicly known to identify as queer.
“Mrs. Carol Denise Betts,” Nash captioned the sweet photo of her and her new wife, using the LGBTQ+ hashtag, #LoveWins, and including a rainbow emoji. Though the actress is commonly known in Hollywood as Niecy Nash, her legal name is Carol Denise. According to the post, she’ll be taking her wife’s last name.
The Scream Queens star appears to be beaming alongside Betts, wearing a form-fitting, strapless mermaid gown and waving at guests in what looks like an outdoor ceremony. Betts confirmed the news on Instagram, writing “I got a whole wife,” along with the same photo of the two holding hands.
Nash was previously married to Jay Tucker and Don Nash but has kept her relationship with Betts largely private. However, she did previously post about Betts, as the two worked together on a 2018 episode of Nash’s TNT show Claws. The post was a video of Betts singing a version of the song that would air in the series’ wedding-themed episode (with Nash in a wedding dress, no less) along with a selfie video of the two of them hanging out.
We couldn’t be more thrilled for the new happy couple.
