Nicole Kidman is totally keen for Season 2 of “Big Little Lies,” so let’s make this happen, people

All signs are pointing to the fact that we might get to revisit Monterey, and now Nicole Kidman has said that she’s eager for Big Little Lies Season 2, too.

At the end of Big Little Lies, we were totally left wanting more. We still have SO many burning questions we need answered. Luckily, it seems that HBO might be in the market for a second season, and the show’s executive producer and star Reese Witherspoon shared a rather exciting reunion picture with fellow cast mates Nicole Kidman and Laura Dern.

Of course, we were totally drawn in to HBO’s mini-series through its intense plots, such as the murder and who bit Amabella. But another important part of the show — even if it was difficult to watch — was its portrayal of domestic and sexual violence.

Now Nicole Kidman has said she’s totally into the idea of returning to Big Little Lies.

Sitting down with Variety, Nicole opened up about her experiences on the show, and revealed what it would take for her to come back for Season 2.

"If the storyline could be powerful and compelling," she said, when asked point-blank about returning. "If there is a way to form these women’s lives further, that’s really interesting. It would be so lovely if we could do it."

Nicole also spoke about the impact the show has had on people’s lives.

“I cannot believe how it entered the zeitgeist,” she admitted. “It’s really been a huge eye opener for me on the power of television, the power of that particular story and how it connected. It was glorious, actually. While it was on, the way people were coming up, saying: “What happens next?” They were obsessed. It was beautiful. I was very much part of people’s lives.”

Nicole’s comments come after she appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, where she also spoke about her role as Celeste Wright.

“I felt a sense of duty that I wanted to give truth to such a complicated story,” Kidman said at the time. “I wanted it to be incredibly real for the audience. And so I got lost in it and I threw myself into it, to the point where I would come home at night with, you know, bruises and really sore.”

While the idea of a second season of the show is somewhat divisive, we’re of the opinion that if the storyline is good enough, and if it explores these characters further, then we would be 100% on board to find out more about them — we would welcome Season 2 with open arms.

Hopefully, given how much the cast seemed to love it, HBO will announce something soon.
