Nicole Kidman looks like Cinderella in this shimmering gown at the Golden Globes
If fairy tales were real and the story of Cinderella happened in 2017, she would’ve wished to look like Nicole Kidman in her glittering gown at the Globes tonight. Oh, where to even start? Kidman, who got a Golden Globes nom (her ninth, by the way, not counting her three wins) for her role in Lion — in which she adopts a young Indian boy who later in life sets out to find his first family — looked downright gor-ge-ous at the ceremony, sporting a blonde, wavy faux-bob and a shimmering, sheer Alexander McQueen gown.
We cannot get enough of this look, every angle makes it look different, every pose displays something new about it. It’s the sort of dress that makes you wish Nicole would stand on stage and just slowly turn around on the spot so we could take it all in. If award shows didn’t always notoriously run long, we might have fought for this.
But for now, let’s just bask in the many shots we do have of this effortless, modern-princess look.
That wave of beads and sequins, that frilly train, those freakin’ sleeves. They have that Disney-princess poof at the shoulder, and a certain razzle-dazzle fringe at the wrist. This dress is proof that sometimes, more is more. A little of everything, please!
Nicole collected her long blonde curls behind her neck, letting a few loose curls fall forward. She totally had us fooled, we thought she’d chopped!
Princess Nicole (she was Princess Grace, remember) kept her makeup minimal, sticking with a rosy lip and silvery eye to match her disco ball of a gown.
The resemblance is UNCANNY!
Her layered necklaces echoed the gems and beads on the dress, and her ears were kept bare. You gotta stop somewhere!
Literally make way for the most stunning woman in the room. She has lost her glass slipper and needs to be home by midnight (though we see more of a 4 a.m. home-time for Nicole and Keith tonight).
This is fairy-godmother-status dressing. This is otherworldly. This is …what we’ve come to expect from the always-classy Nicole Kidman.
