Nicole Kidman may have accidentally revealed a HUGE Big Little Lies spoiler
Warning: Major spoilers ahead for Big Little Lies Season 1.
There’s no doubt about it that Perry Wright (Alexander Skarsgård) is definitely dead. (Right? He is, right?) But it sounds like we haven’t seen the last of him just yet. During a recent event at The Wing ahead of the Big Little Lies Season 2 premiere in New York City, Nicole Kidman accidentally dropped a major bombshell. At the panel, which featured our five favorite Monterey moms and new addition Meryl Streep (!), Kidman confirmed that Skarsgård reprises his role in Season 2.
Speaking of her experience working with the True Blood star, who played the abusive husband of her character Celeste, Kidman said, “He was the most incredible acting partner, and then he came back for season 2.”
Once she realized her spoiler-filled statement, Kidman tried to backpedal—with encouragement from co-star and fellow producer Reese Witherspoon, Cosmopolitan reports.
"He has a little bit of a part in the sense of…the basis of…okay, I’ll be quiet," Kidman added. "He didn’t abandon us. We’ll put it that way."
While Kidman may have officially announced Skarsgård’s return to the series, the actor seemed to indicate as much during an appearance on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon earlier this month. While he was coy about whether he’d be in the upcoming season, he had nothing but praise for the HBO hit series and its Season 2 material.
"I've read the second season," Skarsgård revealed. "I've read it, but I'm still not sure if I'm in it or not. It's fantastic."
Additionally, the actor appeared at the Big Little Lies Season 2 premiere earlier this week. While on the red carpet, he maintained that his character was “very dead.” Perry may not have survived being pushed down the stairs by Bonnie Carlson (Zoë Kravitz) during Season 1’s climactic fight, but it certainly seems like we’ll be seeing him once more—maybe just in flashback form. We’ll have to wait to find out.
Season 2 of Big Little Lies returns to HBO on June 9th.
