People are editing Nicolas Cage into famous movies for some reason, and look, we’re not going to stop them
A few years ago, a Tumblr called “Nic Cage As Everyone” introduced the internet to the idea of putting actor Nicolas Cage into major moments in history, art, and film. Well, the meme just got an update, and TBH, it’s glorious. That’s right, people are editing Nicolas Cage into actual movie scenes using a machine learning algorithm, and the results are spectacular.
Now, you can watch Nicolas Cage as basically any character in any film. IndieWire reports that FakeApp is currently being used to plop Cage’s face onto actors in Indiana Jones, the newest Superman film, and more. It’s disturbing. But it’s also amazing? It’s one of those things you can’t look away from.
Like, yes, someone *did* edit Nicolas Cage over Andy Samberg doing an impression of Nic Cage while seated next to the actor himself. And YES, someone did turn Nic Cage into iconic adventureman Indiana Jones. And let’s be real: Seamlessly adding Nic Cage to every possible movie is the next logical step for this enigmatic actor/internet king.

It’s not clear when exactly Cage became a human meme, but we love him all the more for it.
Somewhere between winning an Oscar, buying an island, and overacting in a series of bananas films he turned into a sensation. And don’t forget: He’s a member of Hollywood Royalty (his actual name is Coppola, as in, the guy who directed The Godfather), and he named one of his sons Kal-El, which is the real name of comic book hero Superman. Several years ago, a parody video called “Nic Cage’s Agent” joked that the actor would say yes to every single project he was offered, even without hearing the synopsis, and often turning his agent’s rage jokes into feature films.
Whatever the reason for these latest internet jokes about Nicolas Cage, it’s easily the best mid-week break we can think of.
